The Chenresig with Mahamudra practice was composed by Ngorchen Khonchog Lhundrup (1497 – 1557), who was the tenth abbot of Ngor Ewam Choden Monastery. This profound and inspiring text points us to our most compassionate and luminous potential. It has a special connection with Lama Kunga Rinpoche and the Ewam Choden Center since it originated with one of the great lamas of Ngor Monastery.
It is a rare opportunity and not to be missed.

Completed—SPECIAL TEACHING FROM LAMA JAMPA THAYE ON SATURDAY, JULY 8 AND SUNDAY JULY 9 AT EWAM CHODEN
June 19, 2017 by admin
Lama Jampa Thaye will teach Instructions on shamata and vipassana meditation (calm abiding and insight meditation) This will be based on The Triple Vision text. He will teach this over the two days. This is a teaching that is of value to meditation practitioners of all levels and experience since it applies to practice up to the highest Vajrayana.
Shamatha, Tibetan ཞི་གནས་, shyiné–the calm abiding which steadies, composes, unifies and concentrates the mind.
Vipassanā, Tibetan ལྷག་མཐོང་, lhaktong—the insight, which enables one to see and understand conditioned phenomena based on the five aggregates and gain insight into the true nature of reality
H.H. Sakya Trichen said, in a teaching on Parting From the Four Attachments, “The actual method of eliminating the afflictions is through the practice of insight wisdom. Before practicing insight wisdom, however, one must first develop a base of concentration meditation, also known as calm-abiding meditation. Altogether, the practice of the fourth line includes three stages: meditation on calm abiding, meditation on insight wisdom, and meditation on the combination of these two.”
“Insight wisdom, or vipassana, itself consists of three steps. The first is to establish all outer objects or outer appearances as the mind and as created by the mind. The second is to establish all mental objects as illusory. The third is to establish all illusions as devoid of inherent nature.” A Teaching on Sachen Kunga Nyingpo’s Parting from the Four Attachments
by His Holiness Sakya Trizin, from http://www.hhthesakyatrizin.org/teach_fourattach4.html
Open to Everyone. Requested donation: $40 per day or $60 for both days. Dana (offering) to the Lama is separate.
